Splash pad...
E, J, J's friend A, and I spent a little time at the splash pad yesterday. As soon as we turned the corner and E could see the water on the splash pad, she got so excited and started saying "Water, water, water, water" over and over again. She was so happy to get out of her carseat so she could go check out the water.
E had a great time playing in the water. She willingly put her face in the water fountain because J asked her to and J did it first. Then E poured a bucket of water over her head when Mommy asked her to. Great since last time we were here she took two hours and Mommy forcing her to be near the little fountains of water. Now it wasn't a big deal. She still didn't get complely soaked, but still had a good time.
I consider this a great success as she never got exposed to much water as a little baby. She liked baths, but big water (pools) doesn't appeal to her. The noise of splashing water is what bothers her the most. She loves being on a boat on the water though. No issues there. Seems kinda wierd, but I won't complain as long as she is happy.
J and A were chasing each other with buckets of water. A ran in to fountain pole while trying to get away from J throwing a bucket of water. Quite funny! The most pathetic thing was J had a small bucket and A had a large bucket. J tried filling her small bucket, but she chose the smallest trickle of water to fill her small buckeet while A chose a large fouhtain that filled her bucket much faser. Didn't work so well for J. Later on the girls went and laid out on the cement on their towels to tan. J made the comment that it felt like she was laying on a rock. I informed her that she was, the cement. She was like "oh." I had a good laugh over that.
There happened to be birthday party there also so there were many people under the shelter, so we only stayed little more than an hour. It was lunch time as well so E was hungry. We left the splash pad and in less than 10 minutes down the road E was sound asleep in her carseat. Sadly by the time we got home she had a 20+ minute catnap and didn't want to continue sleeping. Mommy was so tired but there was no nap for another couple of hours. Now if Mommy was smart she would have napped when E napped, but alas good intentions don't always happen. Just enjoyed some quiet time watching a movie.
Since E napped for a couple hours, she didn't get back to sleep till about 11:30 that night. She had a good evening, nothing to exciting. We walked down to the park in our development and walked around the trail looking for puppies. E thought there would be puppies there since there was the last time she went walking on the trail with Daddy. J spent the night at a friend's house in our development so she was basically gone all day as well (after the splash pad).
Hubby had to go to work for the day so he was gone from 11:00am on. He didn't get home till 9:00 the next morning, right at the time E woke up! So needless to say after breakfast he is napping now and E is watching Blues Clues. No idea what to do for lunch time. Trying to decide what to make so that we all like it is not easy to do.
Since Hubby doesn't have to go back to work till tomorrow, I do not know what will get accomplished today. Might head back to the splash pad again. J gets to mow the lawn while Hubby trims the edging. I hope to get a little house work done today. Probably won't get much done, but it's the thought that counts. Goals for cleaning today: Strip master bed and wash sheets/blankets, Wash dishes (E's sippys as well), Wash E's clothes, Wash my clothes so I have something to wear to work this week, Vacuum the upstairs (did the kitchen rugs yesterday). Since it is already 11:30 today, I don't think anything will get done too soon. But by the end of the day it should happen. Wish me luck!
